Standard & Poors 2001 eps estimates for the SPX have just dropped a bit to their losest value since early Oct.

01/19/00 67.05
01/26/00 64.02

My gut feeling, though, is that they could quite easily pop back up to 67 or so next week. I'm not sure if this recent drop is even significant, and I am not sure it's even worth tracking these numbers. I suppose a drop of the eps below 60 would suggest some potential problem though, but I think the stock market would already have reacted before the new estimates have come out.
