i'm a bit confused on your above statement...if you can give an example, i may better understand what you were trying to accomplish. typically the buyer of an option, be it put or call has no real repair strategy or ability to reset a position without increasing cost basis. everytime you pay for something your cost basis goes up.....repair strategies are common for the sell side, as it reduces cost by taking in added premium.....

a lot of misinformation is spread about on call buying, and no one notices the errors until a fast moving stock loses momentum. qcom is the perfect example.
