Robert,
From your previous post, you said,
"You stated predestination and free will can coexist together. That is what I replied to you about. You then omit free will and place faith in there instead. Lets stay on track Steve.
Of course faith and predestination can co-exist since thier origin is from Almighty God and not from man Faith is either a fruit of the Spirit or a gift from God , either way its origin is from God , not us."
Good point! I did change the wording. And I apologize for your confusion. But my point being this, you have the free will to choose whether to have faith or not. I believe faith is a gift of God to us as you do! But you choose whether or not to have faith!
So what we have broken it down to is this, we agree faith and predestination go hand in hand. But the issue is, do you choose to have faith or does God just give you faith, without you being able to choose if you want it or not? Right?
Continuing, what I am saying is based upon the decision to have faith or not, which each person makes, God could then base his decision off of whether to save you or not. God foreknows your decision before you even make it, right? So in fact, with the foreknowledge, you did not act in any way, shape or form, and God makes his decision of election or not!
Again, I will reiterate, my point is every person has the free will to accept to have faith or not! And it is by your choice to have faith or not, that you are saved or not!!!!
That's why we must show the world the gifts God has given to us, and ask people to decide whether they want to accept the free gift of salvation through faith in Christ or not! That will determine their fate. And that was my original point with Eog.
I agree that God does choose us when we are dead in our sin. He tell us that. And we all are before God gives us the gift of salvation!
Free will to choose to have faith and predestination can exist at the same time. That was my point!
Hope this clears up your confusion.
Enjoy your day tomorrow. This weekend will most likely keep me away from the computer as well. So if I can't get back to you quickly, please excuse me.
Be well!
