The verse is talking about the Second Coming of Jesus and the end of the world.... Men say God is Slack concerning the promise to return to judge the wicked. " As slow as the second coming " they will say in mockery. Paul states that God is being Longsuffering of the Wicked in Judgement because He is waiting until all of His elect are brought into the Fold. The verse does not teach that God is taking His time concerning the second coming because he is.. Hoping EVERYONE in the whole WORLD gets Saved God would have to be awful stupid to think that everyone in the whole world might get saved if he wait just a little longer - even if your free will heresy were true. In fact the longer it takes Jesus to come back the more people who are born and most of them are going to hell. Reason my friend, reason! God Bless Brian Jesus will come back when the last person elected unto eternal life is brought in or shall we say the last Sheep is found and not a minute before.. that is what is being taught about why it is taking over 2000 years for Jesus to come back.... God is not slack or slow to judge and send the wicked to hell but rather suffers their wicked deeds while He does a work bringing to eternal life all those whom He has predestined to received the Gift of Eternal life through the Gift or Faith by unmerited favor and grace.
