>>Hi Eric, as a potential Amati investor, what he used the money for is second to why did he sell. That is the important question and the tax answer isn't convincing to me. >>
I don't think so. The questions are, in order of importance,
1) What % of his holdings has he sold. If greater than 20% go to # 2. Else, you are paranoid, or you have a chip on your shoulder you need to make lighter, or whatever. Suppose he sold only 0.1 % (2000sh) of his holdings in total. Would you still be raking this topic over the coals. Where is your threshold Will? If you do not agree. OK go on to # 1a.
1a) What is he using the money for is immaterial. Suppose he is having a house built and needs to make payments to a contractor at various stages of completed construction. Is this OK? (Steve Wozniak built a house in the >10's of mils)
Now. Reality is, this is private and it is something WE WILL NEVER KNOW. So Why speculate. Its a waste of everybody's time. This then forces us to fall back more on #1.You have to. Be LOGICAL about this Will. You will NEVER KNOW the answer, so what can you gain to LEARN about your investment from this. This is the reality. (This came apparent to me only after I made the "Ciofi's Bleeding on Margin" post last week and that it was only idiotic to speculate on it).
2) I now agree, a POTIENTIAL problem may exist. (Selling greater than 20%)

<<I am still looking for the Amati insider buying, to support the theory that this is truly seen as undervalued by those who should know, insiders.>>
I do not believe you will see it.
I saw in the company filing the salaries these guys were getting. Very few in three figures and nobody close 200k. They have to be that way or they will scare away potential investors. I'm sure the lifestyles of the highest paid does not match their salary. This may be the reason for some of the temporary periodic selling. Their salaries, I believe, are deferred in stock. Much easier for them to sell than buy.
<<It is easy for an insider to say this is a bargin (JS said this when Amati was at 9?), but it will hold water if himself or other directors put their own money where their mouth is.>>
The above addresses this. I think you are wasting time grabbing straws.
It makes much more sense logically to spend your time on things which are real and obtainable.
And.
It makes much more sense to learn from information which IS obtainable than to spend your time on things which are not. Those that don't are just stirring the pot of negative hype. |
