Was in the business may have been a better characterisation. I have not done embedded work for about 5 years. Now it's more device driver kind of work (Where the OS has been decided). I was more familiar with IRMX and VRTX all of which are obsolete now. Still the last project I was on was high volume, low cost. After looking at OSs it was decided that we could save a nickle per device by doing our own and so we did.
