I might point out that Steve is entering the discussion with a completely open mind. The "investment style" space in his profile contains the following:

"Short term gains where I see the opportunity. (Not forgetting that EVERYBODY should have a long term holding in INTC)." (Emphasis NOT added.)

Somehow I forgot to have a long term holding in INTC. I'd better call my broker and remedy that. Or not.
