Hello everyone,

A little off topic, but with Ed's blessing, I wanted to update some of my previous posts about the scary January.

Fuddle quoted one of those well known market truths last night -- "As goes January so goes the year." It was this quote I had in mind when I challenged you to pull up the broad index of your choice and spot the Januaries that had important downs.

I'm not flaming about the end of the bubble, blah, blah, blah. It's just common sense and good clean fun to take note when Lassie barks: "What's up girl? What? We got trouble? You want me to convert to cash?"

I'm at a client's but I just had to logon to see what the Employment Cost Index report was? Well, it's 25% more than consensus! I suppose this raises the possibility that Greenspan could hit us with more than a 1/4-point increase in interest rate. The S&P is hovering at 1380 support and will not find real firm ground below that if it does not hold in the coming weeks.

Interesting aside: All the markets are red today except for CDNX.

No matter what happens there is lots of money to be made either way. Might be time to start the thread: "Canadian Stocks To Accumulate After The Correction". -gg-

Sorry for the length. I know some of you are trying to trade and make money.

Cheers. --Allan
