The interesting thing about Newmont's Earnings were they came out at 8:06AM Eastern on Wednesday the 26th:
biz.yahoo.com

Newmont was basically unchanged on Wednesday, while the XAU dropped from 61.00 to 59.30. Apparently, it took a while for the analysts to read and understand Newmont's results. In addition to the reserve increases, I think the $2.40 cash flow per share was also a very nice number.
