I agree with you on KISS violations. And I fundamentally don't feel comfortable with their bias towards frequent re-optimizations. When I got the first version of OT (and I mean the very first), I spent a couple of months methodically testing a fixed control data set using different frequencies to see what merit it might have. Unfortunately, the package didn't at that time calculate profits correctly (didn't account for open beginning and ending positions) so it was silly. 2.5 seems to have addressed that problem, but its made test data all but impossible to generate and get at.

I still use some of their old "Director" series systems in Metastock 5.11 today. I limit the use of OT 2.5 to test baskets of stocks to narrow down which ones might be good candidates for which of the older Director systems. Then I plow through the process of testing those out in MS manually.

Does Nirvana have a schedule date associated with 3.1?
