Chuck -

When you say "April", are you referring to the launch of Tbird or production from Dresden?

I think the timing of the Tbird/Spitfire launch is THE question for AMD, now that most have come around to recognition that Cumine and Athlon are currently equivalent clock-for-clock. In that situation I have felt for some time that AMD will not be able to sell all the Athlons they can make, at least not without a debilitating price war. (Yes, I know Intel would hate to gut their current profits, but you know, I think they would hate to lose their very profitable monopoly even more.)

So the question of Tbird (or perhaps the 'Professional-like' full-speed DDR cache thing reported by JC and ACE) timing is key. What do you hear? Johan was the one reporting the rumoured slip, and he does appear to have some sources at Dresden.

TIA,
Vince

P.S. - bear in mind, that while overall demand is beyond AMD's control, demand for Athlons could be VERY strongly influenced by regaining the kind of performance lead that existed back in Oct.
