Not totally new. New limits are set at the beginnning of each quarter. Go to www.cme.com and look up circuit breakers. It's important to the big players, hedgers vs. the pit since the pit can fade large orders with more room on the downside and also chase stop orders below 1370 potentially. Note at exactly 2:30 the pit blasted through the former limit of 1374.8. The lower pivot point of 1368 may also be endangered. NAZ is getting hit pretty good now and the NDX100 is approaching -186 points for a 5% loss. FWIW I'll probably go home short some SPoos for Monday morning.
