El,
Analyst observations.

ML who appears to be a big client of Compaq's claims to be bullish and makes the most bearish calls on the street. Tom Kurlack is gone.

Dan Niles is the axe on computers. Currently he seems to be ahead of the crowd with the most accurate calls.

Kurmar makes the most colorful calls, but is not as accurate as Niles in the computer area. I believe he has been accurate on INTC and other chip stocks.

I don't think we are going to get any real calls until next week. Besides the calls will do us little good until the FOMC BS is out of the way.

I also noticed in the presentation that CNBC also appears to be a big client. The presentation was good. I think it gave the minimum expected growth for each division. The great thing about the presentation is it pointed out Compaq's leading market position against many competitors in many different market segments. Analysts should start to view Compaq as more then a box maker.
