Ted, at least we agree on one thing. The name of the game isn't "MHz cat-n-mouse." The name of the game is actually unit volumes, especially volumes at the MHz sweet spots and above (which I currently pin at 600 MHz). All this jabbering about 800 MHz sightings, 900 MHz "aces in the hole," yada yada mean very little in the grand scheme of things. All they amount to is bragging rights.

Because from my point-of-view, a Willamette "worst-case scenario" will match or even beat an Athlon "best-case scenario," reasonably speaking. Obviously, I can only speak from my own point-of-view, but I think my judgement is sound. And of course, I don't know whether AMD has anything else planned for Mustang and Sledgehammer than what they already announced. All I know is that AMD better have something more planned for Mustang and Sledgehammer if they want to match up to Willamette.
