that growth in the Core sector is slowing, which EB has alluded to on many
occasions, and the fact that they are forced to focus on the mid-size to small business sector where they know competition is much fiercer
and margins smaller is a manifestation of the impending slow down in the Core sector. This is an inflection point in their business and credit
should be given to Cisco for their prescience, but prescience is no guarantee for growth rather it minimizes loss. I don't wish to expound
interminably but I thought I drop a few ideas as food for thought.

I've never seen such a completely uninformed and......welll........wrong statement. The only thing that may be true is that EB said the core sector is slowing but fwiw the core is growing at a much faster pace than the edge and if you've been paying attention CSCO generates more and more business from service providers sales every quarter. The percentage increases in the SP space have been 50% for the past 2-3 quarters. There is a huge transition going on in the infrastructure - or havn't you or EB noticed?

CSCO focusing more on the edge???? Really? Where do you get this idea? Based on what data.

Mehrdad...the worst part about your uninformed post is that someone might read it and actually believe you have a clue. That is dangerous...and talk about spinning a story. I find it irritating that someone can pontificate like you with absolutely no data and no corroborative information of any kind - other than EB's supposed comments. And... well, you know what I think of him.

Now, more to the point. COMS only growth opportunity is right in front of us with the PALM IPO. I do not discount that and that is why I'm long. After this summer COMS will be on its own and if we, as investors, don't get our value from an acquisition or from PALM capatilizing on their leadership then I think you'll be very very wrong.
