Next week is win-win situation ... possible scenarios:

(1) Market rallies on Monday. Quite possible as quality stocks way oversold today. Then Fed maybe raises .50, which is already built in to expectations anyway.

(2) Market continues to tank on Monday. Then Fed cannot possibly raise more than .25. To do so would be kicking market while it's down, political suicide for Dems in a presidential election year. Net result is great buying opportunity for post .25 below-expectation-hike rally.

Don't discount the Super Bowl effect, either. Lots of excitement over a spate of new dot-com commercials; euphoric feelings for at least half the fans. Personally, I won't be watching those two losers playing each other, but it hits home with good feelings for key demographic sectors.
