That's because the financial news network of old focused on financial news.... what a novel concept. Now-a-days, we get our sudo-financial news with wanna-be personalities looking for their "big break" or future movie deal. Joe Kernan says the dumbest things sometimes expecting his "target" to laugh along with him...yet the remark usually draws only a frown or a disengenuous smirk.

As for calling Maria "Ferret" I've watched those budweiser commercials and the only difference to me is the hair cut and the eyes. This is not a nasty insult but a fact of life that many people resemble or sound like certain animals and at least warrant the nick-name, e.g., Mark Haines - Bull Dog, Kathleen Hayes - Coyote, Ron Insana - Jackel, Liz Clayburn - Beaver, Joe Kernan - The Bull, David Faber - The Bear and last but not least our beloved Maria - Ferret-O-rama.

Compared to some of the political bumper stickers I've seen in New Hampshire, to wit: "LICK BUSH"... I think we're being fairly conservative.
