yes, Kenneth, that lowering price increases demand is often emphasized by george gilder, and is known by every smart merchant. so i was surprised when the woman from goldman sachs at the CC said, in a snide tone, "your gross margins are unimpressive (or words to that effect). how is it that you lead in long haul, but don't increase your margins." mr roth politely responded, "well we prefer to keep our clients happy, rather than to run up the price." keeping margins low both keeps up demand and reduces ease of entry by competitors. roth figures everything. mcginn beats him in charming interviewers. i'm hoping he runs for prime minister - soon.
