Today's markets seemed reminiscent of the Asian financial crisis. Although the US stock market was spooked back then, and the Fed even had to bailout a few cocktail acquaintances, overall, the whole experience seemed to benefit America.

Producer country currencies tanked, along with commodity prices, the dollar got a big flight to quality bid and the US expansion was probably prolonged as a result.

Any thoughts on what's going on?
