Garrett VW is hedging his bets in a big way. The Pacific High Tech Index was down 3.14% today, but VW Emerging Growth Fund was up by over .4% (four cents). I have the top holdings (any stock with at least a 1% share in EG) tracked on investor.msn.com portfolio manager and only six of those stocks had gains today. I suppose this means the rallies won't be as strong as the market, but I'm glad not to have to suffer today with VW. My T. Rowe Price Science and Technology was down 3.5% today--it's got a stake in EDS. I have averaged down this week in VWEGX, and expect good returns later this year. I am pleased he is hedging, but I wonder what he uses. Any clues?
