Tom,

Please keep opinions like this to yourself. You are just a clickstream to be monetized as quickly as possible. The weasels have taken over, dissent will not be tolerated (g).

Seriously, don't fire the programmer(s) when it's the fault of the weasels. (As a programmer, I think you could see the validity of this!)

This is a management issue. Responsibility for the ill-conceived and horribly-executed project to "convert" SI lies with the management weasels.

The SI home page now looks like a yard sale. All the crap they want you to buy, piled up on the front lawn.

And everything dressed in the dismal corporate uniform of funereal blue and grey, with turd brown highlights.

Death and Shit.

Quite a brand identity!

What SI used to offer was stuff you couldn't get anywhere else.

Insights from sharp people, techies, traders, investors, and a sense of being part of a really cool community. All the other stuff, the quotes, charts, news releases, are just commodities, available in many other places (and in most cases from sites that load faster and look nicer than SI. And don't require cookies!).

So why go to SI for that stuff? Give me what I am looking for (not what you want to show me), and it better be a clean, easy to read page that loads fast, or I'm gone. That's why I use Yahoo, Askresearch and Clearstation for market data, not SI.

It is clear to me that SI is no longer the best place to go for stock market insight and chat. And now that it is part of weaseltown, it is extremely un-cool.

Unfortunately, there is no one single replacement. But SI used to be that one place, and they blew it.

When I am patronized by a person or organization, or I get the sense that they see me primarily as an opportunity for profit, I eventually take my business and my desirable demographic profile elsewhere.

See y'all elsewhere!
