TI has MAJOR announcement forthcoming Feb. 22nd redefining DSP and covering 3G. It may affect us, it may not. I?ll leave that to the experts. Here?s their statement:
DALLAS - TI began a direct mail, print and on-line advertisement campaign today that teases key audiences to stay tuned because, "On February 22, TI will redefine DSP to mean Do Something Phenomenal."
On that day, TI will make a major statement on the future of broadband communications, wireless 3G, medical imaging, and new generations and breeds of devices that have not yet been invented. And you are invited.
TIers will receive the text of the announcement via e-mail early Feb. 22. Other news and links will be posted on Infolink throughout the day. TIers are also strongly encouraged to watch satellite broadcast for design engineers and engineering managers with Tom Engibous and DSP business Manager Mike Hames. Tom and Mike will discuss details of the announcement and will explain what the technology breakthroughs mean to the company and the industry. The one-hour broadcast will air at 11 a.m. CST on Feb. 22, and will be rebroadcast for Asia and Japan at 8 p.m. In conjunction with the announcement:

Tom will ring the bell to open trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
Tom is scheduled to discuss the technology during interviews with several financial news programs and publications.
TI managers and technologists including Ray Simar, Bob Frankel,
and Gene Frantz will participate in the Webcast and live question and answer session to provide a more technical perspective of the announcement.
To ensure the intended audience can participate, TIers should only watch the satellite broadcast and not attempt to logon to the Webcast. To locate a viewing location for the satellite broadcast go to the TITV at titv.corp.ti.com.
