<<In 1978 my surrogate Mother-in Law, age 95 came from the Hospital to my home after suffering a stroke. I was working a full time Job and yet we took her and her younger sister age 87.into
our home..My Children got a Crash Course in Nursing care. >>

Sounds like my neighbors sister. Her 30 year old 6'7" - 300 pound son blew out something in his back. He'll be spending several months in a neck to knee clamshell brace. He must be tended to 100% plus he can't use a bed pan so it's off and on with the brace several times a day. Now her mother is staying with her as she didn't want to give up her house to stay in the nursing home and she is bedfast.

We are quite lucky here as far as nursing homes. The ones I been in have always been clean with good food, good doctors and lots of activities. I've known several older women who check in to a home for a few months for a rest and then go back home.
