Where I grew up back East, ragweed (Aug-Oct) was really bad. I'd get to where I'd have cold sweats. Ten years of shots didn't do much for me except predispose me against ever taking up heroin <gg>.
Grasses are my bane here in CA. I'm on Claritin, which takes a bit of the edge off. The steroid nose spray is a godsend.
About blushung... When I was in college I did a gig in the chem. bldg. The package delivery person was a woman not awfully much older than me. She was attractive in that strong, honest Midwestern sort of way, and a very proper sort as well. One day, I expressed disgust about some yucky thing to a colleague. She sees this, comes right over, stares at me from a foot away and says with a straight face: "Alex, you have a very long tongue." Boy did I blush! I was too thunderstruck to come up with a decent comeback to such a glorious straight line. I'm older and bolder now, and I'd relax enough to have some real fun...
