I really don't understand why you try and represent me as an NT bigot - I spent most of the 80s and 90s developing on Unix (with some VAX and RSX11 work)- including a lot of development of internals at both HP and Sun. I think it is very likely that some of my code is in Solaris today - I know it is in HP-UX.

I have never done major development on NT or (God forbid) Windows although I have done a number of systems which use Windows or NT clients. I think you must have confused my opinions on MSFT the company as an investment with MSFT the OS provider.

Perhaps you think that by painting me as some kind of MSFT or NT bigot, you can deflect the impact of my comments on some of your less data-driven posts.

You have obviously confused investing in a company with buying into the company PR, market positions, or hype... but even on that score I think it is obvious that I know a lot more about SUNW, its products, market opportunities and competitive challenges than you do.

Let's keep it clean and I'll do my best to provide objective feedback... your statements about my opinion of Solaris, NT, Windows 2000 and their applicability to various market segments bear no resemblance to my actual positions.
