My comments are not directed to MSD the individual - he certainly has the right to sell some of his holdings, and is wise to diversify a little.

My complaint is with MSD the DELL executive. If he feels it is a requirement to sell at the high while withholding the real state of affairs at the company, or even allows that perception to occur, he is not serving the shareholders.

This miss is so substantial that senior management must have at least known in December, when they sold those shares, that there was a risk that 4Q would be low. In the face of that, it seems prudent to just hold off on those stock sales to avoid the perception of any impropriety. Caesar's wife and all...
