on CNXT: swap from MidCap mutual funds to S&P funds?

I remember in July (when dorked by superfluous Q shares)
we all saw the MidCap funds exit
we all awaited the S&P funds arrival
they never showed up
they were treated to a backroom deal, screwing investors
at least some shorterm invstors, esp option holders

my guess is some deals were cut between big funds
they would exchange some large positions perhaps
wouldnt it have the appearance you described?
maybe some personal relationships among fund managers?

thanks for not rubbing my nose in it on Thurs/Friday
best to you, Jim
