The latest that I know about Earthlink Offer and related matters:

1. Earthlink has e-mailed either some or all of their customers about the offer from USAB to open an account with $1000 - maintain min avg of $500 and receive free ISP service for 1 year. From what I understand they want this to proceed slow enough so they can keep up with the requests for new accounts.

2. On Earthlink Home page there is a direct link to USAB now. It look like an Ad and not an offer.

3. Interestingly apple.com has a direct link to Earthlink now. So indirectly at least, an apple customer can go from apple's home page to Earthlink's home page and end up at USAB from there. Someone may want to work out the mathematical probabilities of that happening. Perhaps we will see a Apple-USAB deal in the future.

4. From reports in yahoo, the assigned account numbers have reached 40000+ but nobody has a good fix on the algorithms being used to assign account numbers. The trend, however looks promising. The only clue may lie in there being 1395 accounts on the last announcement and the account numbers being assigned at that time were in the 2800-3000 range. Could we have 20,000 accounts by now? Time will tell and it may be announced soon along with the annual filings.

5. Everybody must have seen the NEWS about USAB presenting at the Emerald Research Conference. Other presenters include ICGE (Internet Capital Group).

6. Maybe we will see a b2banc.com announcement on January 31. Could the East Coast storm factor in here?

To summarize, there is a lot on the horizon, the quarterly /annual reports, b2banc.com launch, the announcement of account numbers, flash website and last but not the least the Greenspan factor.
