THanks for the response. I think you bring up some very good points which can not be ignored... and as a holder of COMS due exclusively to expectations of PALM's success I hope you're right.

However, while some on the thread suggest that CE and Microsoft are dead in this space, we shoudn't forget that Microsoft knows CE isn't the right OS. If they care about the handheld market I believe they will figure out a way to leverage the 30,000 or so ISV's that write to NT - or what would be a derviative of CE which uses less power and less memory. (BTW: as an aside anythoughts on how the StrongArm Processer from Intel might be what CE needs???.) Remember CE is a derivative of NT - at least in respect to communications, API, and available application - so I still consider Microsoft a sleeping giant that can steal the rug out from under us. No, they haven't gotten the recipe right for this space but I for one do not consider this an area that Microsoft wants to give up on. Fortunately they're fighting battles on other fronts right now so we're falling below the prioirty line. Good for us!

fwiw: My opinion is the market for handhelds is huge when you consider all the iterations or different appliance types of a handheld.
