Stan,

You are right about our protocol for type II posts.

When we formulated the response protocol, I assumed we already would have had the information/data/facts and so forth necessary to offer an immediate informed response. However, it isn't clear from our protocol just how to proceed in the absence of such information.

Without having readily available information to offer a type II poster, what should the protocol be? Go look it up ourselves--or challenge the poster to come up with appropriate sources and data?

If we do the latter, as you say, it could be a long wait. If we look up the information ourselves, we become victimized by the type II poster and potentially waste our time--not the poster's time.

Do you have any suggestions for a way out of this dilemma?

Thanks,

Ice
