Lynn -
CPQ has said very clearly that they are NOT planning to go into the cell phone business either directly or through added cell phone functionality in their handheld lines - but as these devices converge, that CPQ will provide leadership architectures to maintain the best integrated functionality.

Currently, the cell phone guys and the game guys and a number of other players all seem intent on closing in on the Internet - but if each of these groups attempts to provide their own infrastructure to enable Internet connectivity, there will be higher costs and worse integration at every step in the process. CPQ sees this as an opportunity to develop lightweight peripheral components in partnership with each of these groups, while assuring that their own high performance infrastructure components provide the best backbone.

This is a very complex subject, which deserves a much fuller discussion... CPQ has a good plan here but as always execution is key.
