You were well inspired to short INPR from 6 down to 3 when Del was stirring this ship. But you kept comparing INPR with QDEK, back then. When MSFT invested in Inprise, you should have realized (IMHO) that this company was no QDEK. After surging to almost 7, the stock settled back down and even traded at 3 1/2. You should have bought into it, then (like I did add to position). Looking back, $3 should have seemed no-brainer, as you say. A year from now, looking back, INPR at $13 may look like it should have been a no brainer because of the potential associated with Linux and the neutralization of Microsoft by the DOJ.

Whatever, good luck on you investments. If timed properly, of course, one could make money on almost any stock, in whichever direction (long or short). Shorting is however so much more risky (also so much more professional for the same reason).

Best ...

Ghassan.
