True enough Victor, but just to clarify - I am also talking about a cashless transaction. I'm just suggesting that the really big holders are selling all along - their tax advisors are telling them to do this - whereas prior to the "ordinary income" rule there would be no reason to do so... you would have held out to the absolute final moment.

Accepting a huge windfall as ordinary income is just awful from a tax standpoint - I really hate that tax rule, however the good news is that maybe it spreads out the option selling a little bit.
