I don't think this will be Greenspam's last effort at quelling inflation thru rate hikes. But from what I've gleaned in listening to the talking heads, much of the street welcomes a hike to cool things a bit. Anyway a lot of the Fed action is already factored into the market; the correction we're seeing here in the short term is probably over, the market is likely somewhat oversold at this point and will consolidate its losses for a few trading days. After that I guess it depends on the mood and attitude about earnings and interest rates. IMO
