ICICI Venture picks up minority stake in Biocon for $4m

ICICI Venture has acquired an undisclosed minority stake in the Bangalore-based Biocon India Group by investing $4m.

Speaking at the inauguration of Biocon's new state-of-the-art submerged fermentation plant, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, chairperson and managing director of Biocon Group, said the proceeds from the ICICI investment will be used mainly for expansion and commercialisation of its bioreactor.
