How do I figure out my tax liability on withdrawing from an IRA or transferring from an IRA to a Roth-IRA. With all the job transfers and etcetera, it is next to impossible for me to figure this out. Can I contact a government office to get this? Another question, can I transfer part of my IRA into a Roth IRA and, if so, how do I figure the taxable gain? Do I use a proportion of the entire gain in my IRA? Thanks all.
