The "Maria B" segment in the am, with her standing on tip toe, clutching her clip board shouting above the din of the market open , & giving 15 sec "updates" on the stock du jour...or her scrambling to read her "notes" (absoluetely worthless the next day)..... as people wind
their way through and around her.......seems in part, exactly the kind metaphor for the market as a whole as a---> "woman in heat", to
draw eyeballs for CNBC...
Have nothing whatsoever against a woman in this role, trying "BREATHLESSLY & FRANTICALLY " to deliver the
Up~to~the~minute" scoop....."here it is boys", from the lips of Maria, Kosher and NewYork style, because this is "WallStreet"....
and Maria does it best, New York, New York....and vive' Wallstreet!

pleeeeeze------> somebody give CNBC a break! They have a great thing going with Maria B. But as for me personally? Pleeeeze----->give me a break!

Listening to a breathless and almost frantic Maria B @ the market open, is one of the most consistent places during the day, I lower
the volume of the tube, or switch channels to another "feed". The
almost manic tone in her voice is absolutely the wrong kind of vibration I wish to experience at the market open and counter productive.
Actually "quiete"
reigns in my domain during the gaps and trading opens....and market closes.

And if do watch her..... I reduce her to the distance of the next room, by adjusting the volume down so low as to barely here her and even then
tend to turn it all the way off....she makes a beautiful Silent movie character,in this gigantic, silently seething & surreal financial monolithic set....and fun to glance over at once in a while....for it reminds me of all the "mania of the moment", that has driven man from the start.

There are some other segments during the day, where she is more
productive to listen too...But all in all, for CNBC..."The Maria B"
Show at the market open is a-----> fantastic Freudian Coup.
....eyeballs to eyeballs.

Just not for me, CNBC...

but there is always the volume control....

:-)
