Cirruslvr, re:<Best Buy Ads> bestbuy.com
1. AMD is being extremely agressive with notebooks. This tells me two things, first, that Intel is at least a month away from the release of the 128K coppermine. Second, I believe that rumors of a very low voltage killer laptop CPU using copper technology may well be true. Otherwise AMD would not be selling the K6-2 notebook chips so cheap so as to continue to dominate the retail notebook market.
2. Where have all the sub-500 MHz K6-2's gone? I didn't see any at Fry's (except an old 350 MHz "free" computer), and there's none in the Best Buy ad. Is everything yielding at 500 MHz and better, or is E-machines coming out with a huge K6-2-450 promotion tomorrow?
