Full duplex pc-to-phone calls are possible if your computer's sound card supports full duplex, and most do. But other problems exist. DDDC says that you can make calls using the speakers that came with your system, plus an inexpensive microphone...and this is true...but the speakers feed the talker's voice back into the microphone and produce unacceptable reverberation on the phone end. So, instead of microphone+speakers you'll actually need to buy a rather expensive headset ($89 suggested retail for the highest rated unit) or a less expensive phone handset (such as by Riparius) to solve this problem. I'm in the process of purchasing the latter and will wait to see if this solves enough of the problems to make such communications acceptable. The way it stands now, though, the person at the phone end finds the channel to be unacceptable (wavering, echoing, auditory delay) for anything longer than a few minutes. The quality of the incoming signal, though, is quite good at the PC end.
