Harry: noted, but not necessarily understood from #24842 As I pointed out to Dorothy I think Clint was using 12 sectors as a momentum indicator for the COMPX. When at least 5 of the sectors stopped advancing then there was a problem. The key is to chose the stocks in the sector carefully and keeping them current. This was something that he was very good at. I think we can glean what those sectors were from his watch lists. The SI portfolios have a interesting feature that will give you a composite increase on a group of stocks. The sector rotation list I have posted from time to time is similar in nature, but does not have the breadth of his list. also #24968 Name Number of stocks Gain/Loss INTERNET 13 -6.3% CHIPS 13 -2.0% CHIP EQUIP 10 -3.4% Telecom Equip 21 -3.7% RETAIL 8 -2.2% SOFTWARE1 13 -5.7% DSL 6 -6.8% DWDM 15 -6.8% Financials1 6 -4.5% Carriers1 3 -5.9% Telecom Construction1 3 -3.5% networkers1 4 -4.4% Contract Manufacturers 4 -2.8% Tier 2, D-WDM 7 -2.5% Broadband Cable 7 -5.4% Harry's current watchlist 33 -3.8% DOW 10 -3.8% DRUGS 4 +2.0% XML 15 -0.7% It seems there might be a correlation between 842 & 968 except there are more than 12 sectors? Now 980...doesn't add up to the number of stocks tallied in 968 & the sectors don't match & there are added fundamental criteria + percent held? Probably should stop right here.
