Well, first of all, I don't know what kind of grants these RANK AND FILE people at msft were given. I do know that the "rank and file" people where I work are given 10K shares at hire. So lets say msft RANK AND FILE people got ¬ of that in 1994 or so. After 2 splits - viola - 10K shares at 100 stock price - one million.

I believe those that did get options at msft are worth 1 million +. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT GATES AND BALLMER EITHER.

So please tell me, if you care to, based on MSFT fundementals and shifting leadership, why these rank and file MSFT employees would be so inspired to not sell any of their aging shares?

Ummm, I don't think I care to. You see - this is NOT what I said. My position is that people with $1mm+ msft options have already exercised, because that is the norm these days with tax treatment being what it is.

Whatever your point is about msft... it doesn't much matter to me. I'm just correcting misconceptions about options... believe what you want Victor.
