i loved the ads.
though i didn't see the one with the monkey, because it's not in here
promotions.yahoo.com

the "basketball" one was great, the father is dreaming of all those millions his kid is going to make signing that contract to play basketball, and instead the kid wants to "dance ballet".
the closing line: "ALWAYS HAVE A BACKUP PLAN" (ETRADE), in case your kid is a little strange.

the guy jumping out the window was a good idea (the excitement of wallstreet in your own home) but very bad implemented, the guy who played the role was a disaster.
too bad, it could have been a good ad.

money out of the wazoo was superb, the ad -and that expression- will be remembered for months to come.
very very funny ad.
why do you need insurance? money will come out of your wazoo.

i didn't see monkey, but as someone said here, it may well represent the famous monkey that throwing darts has been able to outperform the majority of WallStreet professional fund managers for years.
more info on that here
monkeydex.com
businessweek.com
billions are flowing into either:
-index funds (bad news for traditional brokers)
-online trading (bad news for traditional brokers)
as that Business Week cover story well says: "WHO NEEDS A BROKER?"
who? when index funds and even a monkey outperform actively managed funds consistently, that's got to be telling you something.
are you going yo give your money to a fund manager who is no better than a monkey, or manage it yourself?
