EXLN has no competitors. The arena is not defined yet. EXLN has a decided advantage because they were one of the first to substantially design within their XML niche. They also have Objectstore and a great deal of experience with object oriented implementation on many environments, languages, platforms, in a variety of industries.
Currently there are several potential competitors. The old nemesis, ORCL, tends to be one. BLSW, another. BEAS, IFMX, and SYBS from storage and many others, each of which is tangential but none have the complete IDE, server software, object storage solution that EXLN has. None of these address the same market although this will certainly change. Competition won't arise until EXLN can prove they have something of value, or one of the others can demonstrate that XML and the Net are inseparable. |
