Interactive Telesis Announces New Technology Center and Network Facilities Expansion for Hosting of Automated Speech Recognition (ASR) Applications

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 31, 2000
State-of-the-Art Technology Center Enables Customers to Deploy Complex Speech-Enabled Applications Quickly and Reliably

Interactive Telesis Inc. (ITI) (OTCBB:TSIS - news), a leading provider of sophisticated, high-end interactive voice response (IVR) services, announced today the opening of its Technology Center at 10180 Telesis Court in San Diego's Sorrento Valley high tech area.

The Center will house the company's newly expanded network facilities designed to meet increased demand for hosting complex speech-enabled applications.

The Technology Center and expanded network facilities will accommodate the increasing demand for ITI's hosting services in a market expected to grow rapidly in the next three years. To support this growth, ITI has deployed a sophisticated, highly fault-tolerant network and telecommunications infrastructure, including clustered multi-processor servers, and an OC3 provided by AT&T.

With this robust network, ITI can handle thousands of simultaneous calls with no interruption. ITI's open architecture utilizes industry standard hardware and software provided by companies like Dialogic, Intel, and Microsoft. This architecture allows rapid integration of ASR and IVR applications that are developed by both ITI and its clients.

According to Douglas Luke, vice president of operations for Interactive Telesis, the advanced network architecture raises the bar for network scalability, performance and overall content delivery. ``Our ASR customers require powerful, reliable communications services. Our relationship with AT&T, combined with our own industrial-strength network infrastructure, allows us to offer just that,' he said. ``As a result, ITI can provide customers with virtually unlimited flexibility and growth potential.'

``This recent advancement represents our ongoing commitment in expanding our hosting capabilities,' said Donald Cameron, president and chief executive officer of Interactive Telesis. ``With this additional facility, Interactive Telesis has the capacity and availability necessary to host large-scale, complex speech-enabled applications.' Cameron added that the network expansion parallels the company's recent investments in its development team, its recent acquisition of Paragon Voice Systems and will facilitate rapid deployment of complex ASR applications.
