JDN, Re: I am having trouble understanding the following Press Release. I thought that Windows just isnt up to industrial
strength equipment. Yet look at the size of the storage they are talking about??

JDN, Microsoft has grand plans to go after one of your faves, SUNW, with Windows 2000. It is a replacement for Windows NT 4.0, which was intended to be an enterprise operating system, but never came up to Solaris in terms of scalability and (according to Sun) some other things. Microsoft says they have fixed a lot of the shortcomings of NT 4.0, in W2000. All reports I have seen so far on W2000 are good. Launch is Feb. 17, although Wintel machines with it installed started shipping last week.

EMC is not dumb, so they of course will develop big storage (and medium storage?) to support W2000.
