PS IMO, timing still matters, even for a sound strategy.

Yes it does. Time is the most important part of the equation once one has selected the best companies to be invested in and chosen entry points that seem 'normal'. You may have observed discussion over the weekend where I talked about Qualcomm selling for $200 a share the first trading day of this month and the same company's share selling for $103 last week. That's a nice little timing issue that the patient investor who had some 'new' money to invest might have done well from such a move simply by waiting. I cannot comment on the trading issues as I don't have time to trade - especially with money in taxable accounts. However, there are others who have success on this board that could address that issue with you. The point of gorilla gaming is to not devote time, energy and frustration into timing issues, but concentrate on the gorilla game and the companies involved in a gorilla game.

When the fear is the most and things look grim, new money or money on the sideline gets put to work in my strategy. I don't think you will find anyone on this particular thread who recommends throwing caution to the wind and buying all the time, any old time.

However, the timing issue is not our primary focus. It's the stocks that we want to place our investment money in for the longer haul to receive the rewards of what a gorilla can provide for an investor due to their competitive advantage period and gap.

In the meantime we dance, sing, swim, ski, hike, golf or simply 'enjoy' life.
