The term "on special" is used frequently and a list is compiled weekly for brokers/professional traders. I'm surprised you've not heard the term given your understanding. Traders buying excessively on margin to the long side is a clue that holders in RSYS are looking for quick rewards and will potentially off load positions quickly. The shares that are in demand also implies that shareholders are loading up on margin. I wasn't blaming the makers for the price decline today. Makers are given considerable control over the price of a stock, especially for volatile issues in order to "protect their book" relative to the numerical weighting of positions. Actually, I think Radisys movement today had more to do with Radisys forward looking ability to compete effectively with larger firms entering the embedded arena. There is some doubt here, I guess. Although, Radisys business model of "becoming part of the firm they service" appears to be working well and there firm is building product at capacity. They will add 33% more capacity this year. So, projected earnings of $1.85 is doable, and they plan to have part of the additional capacity on line by the third quarter, and fully on line toward the end of the fourth quarter and completely on line by next year's first quarter according to Radisys.
