blrmkr: thanks for the insight re: Intel's flash...
May I ask you a few questions:
1. WHY exactly (i.e. what are the key hardware principles involved) is Intel's flash better for code and NOT data?
2. Are you implying that the Intel Miniature Card initiatives are virtually moribund? This is certainly the first time I've heard about it...Intel has had has had at best a history of mixed success with spin (i.e. media "guidance" and marketing)...but to go thru all this effort and inadequately publicizing it in trade journals and conferences is almost apalling.
3. Do you have an opinion regarding the relative growth rates of adoption of "data flash" vs. "code flash"... is one swamping the other? I would imagine the explosion of the digital camera and MP3 player markets has rocketed "data flash" demand?
Thanks in advance for your further thoughts.
OT: do you feel Atmel's recent price deflation has been unwarranted? I wonder if Atmel's growth prospects match that of the other darling semi companies that we all hear about, re: VTSS, RFMD, LSI....
