Hi Richard,

My basic premise is that AMAT is rising about a 20-25% trend line indefinitely. Whether its up 20% or down 70% relative to that trend, it will always return to it. If that fundamental assumption is wrong, I am all wet. If that fundamental assumption is right, most sellers are all wet, as the majority are lousy market timers.

I've already seen AMAT sliced by greater than half twice in 5 years and each time I've loaded on as much more as I could afford. So I'm not particularly frightened about the "Bear Market" boogie man -bring him on. My basic problem with selling half is two-fold.

(a) Taxes - HATE em

(b) What would I do with the money that would outperform AMAT over the long term - snatching defeat from the jaws of victory?
