TWEC.COM Announces Marketing Agreement With Online Newspaper Network Provider, Poweradz.com; TWEC.COM to Post Co- Branded Entertainment Web Pages to More Than 1,200 Hometown NewspaL,#$

ALBANY, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 31, 2000--TWEC.COM (www.twec.com), the e-commerce
site of leading entertainment products retailer Trans World Entertainment Corporation
(Nasdaq:TWMC), today announced a marketing partnership with PowerAdz.com, an online
newspaper network that publishes more than 1,200 newspapers online.
According to the terms of the agreement, both companies will create a co-branded web
site providing readers of more than 1,200 different newspapers with a direct link to the
latest entertainment news and products on www.twec.com. The site will include a variety
of entertainment information including top selling products, latest and upcoming
releases, feature items as well as several links to other exciting sites.
The co-branded site will create a turn key entertainment section distributed to the
PowerAdz.com affiliate network of national and regional newspapers, including the Dallas
Morning News, New York Post, Orange County Register, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and the
Bergen Record. This provides a unique opportunity for TWEC.COM to reach regional
communities across the country.
